Trailhead Learning is a Montessori elementary community serving children in the early elementary years. As a home-based microschool in St. George, Utah, students grow within a mixed-age environment while taking increasing responsibility for their learning.

The program follows a 36-week academic year and emphasizes steady engagement, thoughtful choice, and meaningful academic exploration.

The elementary years are a time of expanding curiosity and growing capability.

At Trailhead Learning, learning is active, collaborative, and grounded in experience. Students:

• Engage deeply in language and mathematics through purposeful, hands-on work

Children are given sustained time to pursue meaningful questions, design projects, and contribute to their community. These early experiences lay a strong foundation — seeds planted now that, with time and steady care, will grow into deep understanding and confident independence.

Trailhead Learning is led by a Utah state-licensed teacher with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and more than twenty years of experience in Montessori and elementary classrooms. Montessori credentials spanning birth through the elementary years inform a developmental approach grounded in a deep understanding of child growth across stages.

Over two decades of work in education have included classroom leadership, program development, and close partnership with families. This experience shapes a learning environment that is structured, thoughtful, and responsive to the needs of growing children.

As a Washington County native, the vision for Trailhead Learning is both professional and personal — rooted in a long-standing commitment to serving local families. Education here is not viewed simply as academic preparation, but as the careful planting of seeds. Through steady guidance, meaningful projects, and shared responsibility, children develop the confidence, integrity, and capability that will continue to grow well beyond the elementary years.
